Georgia Military Housing
The largest of the U.S. states east of the Mississippi River and the youngest of the 13 former English colonies, Georgia was founded in 1732, at which time its boundaries were even larger—including much of the present-day states of Alabama and Mississippi. Capital of Georgia is Atlanta and it got its statehood on January 2, 1788.
Georgia is home to Fort Gordon, Fort Benning, Fort Stewart as well as 10 other military bases strategically placed throughout the state. Atlanta, which is the capital of Georgia, is located near the middle of the state making it an ideal central hub for airports and a hot spot for tourist.
Georgia hosts Wild Adventures near Valdosta, Six Flags over Georgia, and Stone Mountain. Both are near Atlanta making it a thrill seekers paradise. However, if this is not your cup of tea, then you may want to check out the World of Coke museum, The Atlanta underground or the Atlanta Motor Speed-Park for some great family fun and entertainment. Like many other states, Georgia offers a large variety of state operated parks which feature a variety of activities including boating, fishing, white water rafting, biking, rock climbing and hiking.
However, Amicola Falls, which is located near Dawsonville, Georgia, is the most popular or well known, due to it being either the beginning or end of the Appalachian Trail depending on the direction you are traveling.
