Pennsylvania Military Housing
Pennsylvania is a state that's recognized throughout America as the "Home of Liberty". Among the first 13 colonies, Pennsylvania was set up by William Penn as a sanctuary because of his fellow Quakers. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's capital, was the site of the first and second Continental Congresses in 1774 and 1775, the latter of which created the Declaration of Independence, starting the American Revolution. Following the war, Pennsylvania became the second state, after Delaware, to ratify the U.S. Constitution.
Outside of the two important cities in Pennsylvania, the state is pretty rural. Bethel Park is a great suburb to reside in with an excellent commute to both the city and to Bechtel Bettis in the event you are residing in Pittsburgh. Bethel Park has a great school system. Philadelphia is in the Northeast Corridor and is transportation system or a simple drive to each of the main cities that lie within the Northeast Corridor.
Pennsylvania is a military friendly state with a military existence that is reasonably modest. Military members are entitled by residency in Pennsylvania for income tax exemption. Military spouses could have a simple time finding a job depending on where the PCS takes place.
Military bases in Pennsylvania are spread out among the various divisions of the armed forces and numerous. There are Navy, Army, and Coast Guard bases. Along with the conventional "active duty" bases there are training bases and support bases too.
The U.S. Army has a smattering of bases situated in Pennsylvania. Among these are the headquarters of the state, the location of the Pennsylvania Department of Military Affairs, as well as the Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard. Letterkenny Army Depots and the Tobyhanna provide the other military bases in the region.
Along with the Army, the Coast Guard as well as the Navy also have bases in Pennsylvania. The Coast Guard has control of Sector Delaware Bay and Sector Baltimore too. The Coast Guard as well as the Navy represent a significant portion of the military bases in Pennsylvania.
Along with Carlisle Barracks, training is also provided by NAS Willow Grove. This training is for military reserve troops. These troops are the ones that can take up active duty if mandatory but will generally stay on standby.
